Assigned VIN Program
The Alberta Assigned VIN/Serial number program is for persons who are Registering a Vehicle or Trailer without an assigned manufacturer’s VIN/serial number. Every vehicle or trailer must have an Alberta VIN number. If your vehicle does not have a valid VIN number, you must undergo the Assigned VIN Program administrated by the Insurance Bureau of Canada
.How do you get an assigned VIN?
A client must submit their completed Alberta Assigned VIN Program application form and the applicable fees to VIN Verification Services at assignedvin.
The Insurance Bureau of Canada will come to your home and provide you with a document containing the new VIN number
